The University of Utah’s School of Nursing organized a short marathon in order to raise funds for the non-profit organization Camp Kostopulos, a summer camp for people with disabilities.

I offered to help and took care of their logo (which would go on posters, t-shirts and online) and website.

Designing the logo was pretty straightforward. I did three freehand mockups based on the concepts of Halloween, Nursing/Medicine and Running/Sports and went with the one most popular with the organizers. At the time it was not known at which size or under which processes the logo would be printed (maybe even embroidered) so I chose to go for a simple design with flat contrasting colors. Thick lines and easy to read so it would be likeliest that it would work in any medium. The event poster (not designed by me) ended up having a black background, so an alternate version of the logo was needed since all the linework was already black. Variations for the event website and ticketing service were also delivered.
